Welcome

You are not alone

The Central Ohio United Ostomy Association is a nonprofit organization of people living with ostomies. While the surgeon does the surgery and the ET Nurse shows you the appliances, we help you live with it.

What is an Ostomy?

An ostomy refers to a surgically created opening in the body that allows for the discharge of bodily wastes, the most common being colostomy, ileostomy, and urostomy.

Benefits of Membership

  1. Monthly Meetings
  2. Visitation Program
  3. Subscription
  4. Library

Monthly meetings are open to all new patients and spouses.  ET Nurses and veteran ostomates are available to answer questions.

You will have the opportunity to become a trained visitor for ostomy patients; pre-operatively and post-operatively, with physician approval.

Annual dues include a subscription to the newsletter, Columbus Discovery.

The association has a library of reference books relating to ostomy surgery, care, and rehabilitation. The books are available on a short-term lending basis.

Feel free to email us to find out more about becoming a member.
